Introductions

It was suggested that I introduce myself so, hi :). I'm Dr. Jean Grey (if you're wanting to make a Grey's Anatomy joke you can go ahead and do it but I've heard them all.)

So...I'm here for the foreseeable future. I work with X-Corps and am on sabbatical from practicing medicine (something I hope to remedy soon by getting a fellowship in the city).

I look forward to meeting and working with a lot of you.

Depends on who you ask.

Rogue and I had a run in with Magneto and then somehow ended up here. We've been drifting in and out ever since.

Isn't that how it always goes?

Ah, Magneto. I've heard stories. Glad you both seem to have made it out okay.

So, self defense...does that mean you're ex-military?

Seems so.

He wasn't a fun guy to be around especially when you have a metal skeleton.

Yup. Been in a few of them actually.

You....have a metal skeleton? How? What percentage? Wait....healing factor?

You don't seem old enough to have served that long. Or are appearances deceiving?

Got it in one.

You don't even know the half of it.

Hmmm...well, if you have a healing factor that means your cells repair at an astronomical rate, including the ones that promote aging. That would mean you would age more slowly than everyone else.

So...how old are you?

I've got one of the faster ones around here. Not sure what makes mine faster though.

If I had the answer to that question, things would be a hell of a lot easier. Healing factors and memories don't get along as well as healing factors and time do.

Some genetic makeups are unique. You could have just hit the genetic lottery.

Really? I've never met someone with healing factor...being a doctor they never need it. But the correlation with memory and healing factors degrading is interesting.

I'd think the neurons responsible for forming memories would remain intact and you'd remember everything.

Sorry, I get a little excited about mutation and medicine. I have to tell myself to stop sometimes. I'm sure you have better things to do.

Not sure it's degradation. Think it's more traumatic memory loss that the healing factor doesn't deal well with.

Don't worry about it. I'm already a walking science experiment and figuring myself out is sorta a pastime.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. The mind's a funny thing, isn't it?

Okay :) If you insist.

Yeah, it is on top of everything else that goes on with it.

Hey, more we know about ourselves the better we can do to help.

I suppose it just makes life not boring. :)

That's my thought as well. I find out new things about myself almost everyday.
