xp_phoenixNow that Scott's awake and we have some solid information, he asked that I share it with you all.
When Scott's visor shattered shards of ruby quartz were driven into his left eye, destroying it. Luckily, his right eye was spared but it was impossible to save the left. The surgery he went through was to remove the ruined eye, clean the wound and minimize the scarring and, as I said before, there were no complications during surgery.
We will be staying in Seattle for a few more days to let him heal a little more and to make sure nothing unforeseen comes up and then we will be returning to New York. When we get home Scott will still need a lot of quiet time to rest and recover and, as always, it will be up to him when he wants to see visitors.
And anyone who upsets him will regret it. Extremely. If you're lucky, it won't be me that makes you do so.

I hadn't thought it had been that bad, I just read that quote somewhere and its counter-quote and thought it fit the situation, I didn't know it was so accurate. I will grovel as needed.
