Introductions

It was suggested that I introduce myself so, hi :). I'm Dr. Jean Grey (if you're wanting to make a Grey's Anatomy joke you can go ahead and do it but I've heard them all.)

So...I'm here for the foreseeable future. I work with X-Corps and am on sabbatical from practicing medicine (something I hope to remedy soon by getting a fellowship in the city).

I look forward to meeting and working with a lot of you.

Nice to meet you, Clarice. :)

I'm hoping to eventually get some experience in the medlab. I'm sure you've got a lot of stories.

General surgery, though I'm going to try to get something in general medicine and work with more aftercare now that I'll be here. There's a few places I'm looking at in the city.

You?

emergency and field medicine

chances are, if I'm working on you, you're either in a hell of a lot of trouble or you're here and it's a Monday.

Wow, really? That sounds pretty interesting. I had considered that but was more drawn to the surgical aspect.

I take it you see a lot of injuries here?

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I got my start as an EMT, then worked my way up, but decided med school + residency wasn't really feasible

powers happen. you get used to it.

First responders are always important.

Yeah, I figured. I had some experience with mutant-related care in DC. A lot of the other interns didn't want to mess with it so I got to work with a lot of people first hand.

me too, in NYC, which is where I did rotationals. and plenty of "no filthy mutie is going to touch me" which worked out nicely because the policy was "if clarice can't then nobody can." amazing how quickly their tune changes.

Sometimes people are assholes. That sucks. But I'm glad you had an understanding supervisor.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
only sometimes?

he was the pragmatic sort. I can appreciate that.

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Statistically speaking not everyone can be an asshole all the time.

Baby steps.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
everyone has an asshole

not everyone has to be an asshole

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I tend to try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

But sometimes reality wins out. Still.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
alas and woe

for that, there is chocolate

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Chocolate is a great choice. And occasionally wine.

They also have chocolate flavored wine, for if the world has been particularly crappy.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
except that chocolate alcohol is gross

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, to each her own. :) I'm an equal opportunity booze drinker. Though I tend to favor the sweet kind.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, you can mix chocolate ice cream with alcohol in a mudslide. Absolutely. but chocolate absolute is ew.

It depends on what I want to do. If I want to drink and enjoy myself and have a good time, then a couple fruity drinks are good or a glass of wine.

If I want to get drunk, I'll just drink it straight or whatever.

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The mixers are quite delicious, I agree.

That makes sense. I tend to subscribe to the same methods. Though I am a lightweight, from what I hear. But in my defense I usually get a contact high when I'm in a large setting where multiple people are drunk.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
we are so taking you to Harry's.

this'll be fun!

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
...I had a feeling about you. I did.

Lol, okay.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
because that doesn't sound ominous

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2015-02-10 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That you'd be a wily one. Why? What were you thinking?
