Would someone like to own up to convincing the entire lower level bio class to answer that mitochondria are measures of force strength and a sign of being the chosen one? And, from the bouncing that was going on when I administered the test, I take it payment was made in sweets?

As if Lucas didn't do enough bad work with that prequel.

And it's just occurred to me that most of you weren't alive when the originals came out. Ugh. Feeling old now.

It's not that you're old. It's just that it's been so long since you were born.

Such a lovely perspective...

I believe the term "It all depends on a certain point of view" is appropriate?

High school: "You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany".

And see, I wonder if Scott gets this much grief for being the "younger man".

I believe it is safe to say that Scott gets no grief from me.

I can't decide whether it's charitable or cynical of you that you're assuming this was a conspiracy of design rather than simply that you have a lot of quite stupid bio students who enjoy sugar far too much.

Oh, no, you can tell. Seventeen students with the same wrong answer is a pretty clear sign of shinanigans. Particularly when a) at least some of the seventeen are straight-A students and b) it's such an absurd answer. One or two doing it means they didn't remember the real answer and thought it would be funny. All of them? Nope, no dice.

I suppose that does make the conspiracy theory more likely. I'd fail them all just for wasting my time, so it's probably lucky I don't teach.

Yes, definitely something we can all be greatful for.
