I have been trying to do what I can to see what I can find pertaining to Vanessa's whereabouts but so far I've been coming up short. I've tried nearly everything I can think of on my own but I haven't found anything of any real relevance. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes but I want to help out any way I can. I know her past is about as public as Area 51, but can anyone give me any information on Vanessa's enemies? Someone that might try to go after her? Is there any place she might hide?

I think many of us might have little pieces of the puzzle but don't have all of them to make a big picture. If we need to do this privately I understand but the journal system seems to be the best way to get the word out.

How badly do I want to use my powers on something right now? Anything! I tried to read some of her stuff in the apartment but I got such jumbled readings about her coming back or not, and nothing about where she was! So damned frustrating. And I'm a month behind everyone else in information, so I'm trying to play catch up.

Has anyone been in touch with Mag Ealga to see what they know? Weren't they in danger a while back? Didn't someone put a hit out on them? Do we know who that was?

Mag Ealga

It's a small mercenary outfit. When they piss someone off, it's on someone else's orders for a paycheck. The type of enemies she'd have from those does wouldn't be so clever as to kidnap her. They'd just shot her in the back of the head as a message for the group to choose their jobs more wisely.

If Vanessa was taken, it would have been a carefully laid trap. That means surveillance, intelligence gathering, and setting up the circumstances to get her to where ever they took her. When you commit to an operation like that, whether you're a government or a private group, there are always tracks left behind that you can't quite erase. Our network doesn't have the kind of local depth you'd need for this, but if you're at a loss where to start, that's what I'd suggest.

We've got the network on alert for her. If they tried to take her out of the country, they've done so almost perfectly, and I don't believe in perfect. However, if that's the case, something will come our way eventually. But looking at the information, who ever took Vanessa likely wasn't motivated by revenge - otherwise, she'd already be dead. There's something specific to her that is valuable to them, which means that she's likely alive, and that's a clue to finding out who 'they' are.

Okay, so it wasn't revenge. What else is there? Did they want her to do a job for them, maybe? Utilize her connections and skills? Maybe they asked nicely but she wouldn't agree so they resorted to taking her?

You think they put the hotel where they took her from under surveillance? Maybe if I went there and used my powers on the building or places across the street where they could watch her? I could go check out the airports too if you think they took her out of the country. Places to start at least?

As far as I can tell, there isn't enough intelligence available to make any kind of specific conclusions. What I am saying is that if the reason Vanessa has disappeared is because they want her for something, there's going to be a time period prior to her disappearance where they determined she was what they wanted. Maybe here in New York City.

That's where I would start.

Okay, so all I have to do is hone my powers to look for guys paying attention to Vanessa in New York City. Right! No difficulty there!

(Sarcasm aside, thank you for the insight. At least it's somewhere to start.)

We can branch out, working outward from the day and time she went missing and piece together some sort of time line. I imagine something like that's already been started but we can try to add to it.

Remy's right. They can't be perfect. There has to be some sort of clue.

We? As in, together, or as in, both of us, separately? Do you want to work together on this? Because I must admit, every time I look for a missing person I either break something or get traumatized by what I see in a way that makes me pass out. So having someone around might be a good idea. Maybe you can go into my mind and experience what I Read with me to keep me from losing it? (my mind, not the Reading, since I can never forget a damn reading...)

Actually I don't think Amanda does that one anymore, hah hah.

Do you think Warren's alright? Just going based on how I feel now, and then multiplying that by three more weeks since that's how much longer he's been dealing with the idea of Vanessa's disappearance than me, I'm starting to get a bit worried.

Actually, I've been directly all of the information about her disappearance to Bishop. He has all of the pieces, what few there are.

While that is an understandable step to take, there are people who care about her who would like to help out too.

This is not a case of team verses team, or who has the 'right' to look for her. We need to pool our resources and intel. The more eyes there are out there looking for her, the better chance we'll have to find her.

I didn't fucking say it was a team thing, or that other people don't have a right to help. Charles has been looking. Tabs and I used X-Men resources. Garrison pulled FBI strings. Amanda offered Snow Valley help. Im pretty sure Laurie asked her boyfriend. Wade offered to talk to his contacts. Adrienne's offerd her help as well.

My fucking point was, all of that help I've been channeling to Bishop because he knows how to run a fucking missing persons investigations and when you don't have a central point of contact for information, time gets wasted and stuff gets lost. So maybe before you start making assumptions about what is being done and what isn't being done, you could fucking well actually find out what actually is.

Jesus Christ Warren, lighten the fuck up. She DID fucking try to find out what's "actually" being done- that's why she posted this in the first fucking place! I know you're upset, but for fuck's sake stop lashing out at Vee's friends for trying to figure out what the fucking hell's going on. Bishop's stretched a bit thin these days so he hasn't come out announcing to everyone that he's your 'central point of contact' so how the fuck is everyone supposed to know what's actually being done or isn't? It's not Jean's fault she didn't jump to the immediate assumption that you had a central point of contact, so don't fucking take your pissy mood out on her.

I know you're scared for Vanessa and you're angry at the assholes who took her and are probably running on fumes but there are a lot of people who are flying blind. We want to help and bickering about it is not really doing much other than raising adrenaline levels.

If you want to scream at me, if you need someone to scream at, we can meet and you can have it. Hell, if you need to spar, I'm there, but you know the reason why I haven't been around and don't know what's entirely going on and I apologize for not being up to speed but I'm trying to do that now.
